January 13th was the Chili Cook-Off. While the men are the ones that mainly create and cook the delicious chili, the women lend their talents to bringing side dishes and desserts. This took the place of our usual 3rd-Sunday dinner for the month of January. Check out some of the photos using the link above.
January 20th: The Lord's Supper.
Two times a year we hold a free garage sale - usually in the spring and fall - where anyone can come in and get anything they might want. We all donate our goods and take donated items as well.
This past 2007 year, Oak Valley Baptist Church held 2 free garage sales, (ministry opportunities), took children to falls creek, held Vacation Bible School, gave out food baskets, and gave gifts for families at Christmas. We have a food closet which people can come and get food from. We held a fishing derby, had several outdoor fellowships, sunrise service outside at Easter, had a float in the Christmas Parade, the kids have gone bowling, and we have had many local fun trips. We hope you can attend some of these fun activites for this new year, 2008!
